Just before today’s match, almost everyone around was criticizing Babar Azam for not performing well enough. People wanted him to come one down and were giving all sorts of advice to the man who has won so many nerve-breaking matches for us. The last couple of matches may not be his best, but that changed today. He played a key role in taking Pakistan to the semi-finals and shut every critique down.

This is the story of not giving up, despite the pressure, criticism, and struggle. This is the story of hard work, resilience, and faith, a story of hope, a story that reminds you that you can turn things around.

And that’s how life is for every hustler. It is stormy on most days, but when you survive the storm, the light at the end of the tunnel makes it all worth it.

And it is not easy to not let the negative energies and criticism get to you. When the world wants you to lose, when people who have never lived a day in your shoes comment on your performance, when you see others doing good – it can take a toll on you. We are all humans and sometimes we end up second-guessing ourselves. And it hurts too.

But nobody knows how hard you have been trying, only you do. Nobody knows how many times when it was easy to give up, you pushed yourself to keep trying. There will always be someone wishing for you to fail. Sometimes your own mind will play games with you.

But when it feels hard and you are frustrated, remember that it takes a couple of bad performances and some losses before you have an upward curve.

And that’s my mantra for all the hustlers. Don’t give up. Nobody said it was going to be easy but it is sure worth the hassle. Be proud of yourself and your journey. And soon the world will agree too!
